After consultation with the owners, I decided to transcend the original purpose of the barn by converting it into a destination for those seeking spiritual respite. Abstracting the basic geometry of the structure, I designed an intersticed wooden armature that also serves as a solar shading device that encompasses the existing barn. New reinforced concrete and glass construction provides reception, meeting, and short term lodging needs.
